Pett Village Hall

Project Details

10.8 kW Peak with Battery Storage

We are pleased to share the details of a recent solar PV installation at Pet Village Hall. This 10.8 kW system, paired with 10.24 kWh of battery storage, is designed to significantly reduce the Hall’s carbon footprint while also helping them save on energy costs.

Project Overview

The installation consisted of:

  • A 10.8 kW peak solar PV array made up of 24 panels installed across two strings.
  • A 10 kWh battery storage system, allowing the Hall to store excess energy generated during the day for use during the evening or periods of low sunlight.
  • IP65 modular inverter, built to withstand external conditions, installed outside due to limited space in the main intake room.

This system not only meets the immediate energy needs of Pet Village Hall but has been future-proofed to allow for potential upgrades. Should the client decide to add more solar panels or battery capacity in the future, the system can easily be expanded.

The Client’s Requirements

The Village Hall committee approached us with the goal of:

  • Reducing their carbon footprint and moving towards a more environmentally friendly operation.
  • Saving money on energy bills, particularly during peak daylight hours when the Hall is most active.

By integrating battery storage, they can store surplus energy during the day and use it in the evening, further reducing grid reliance and utility costs.

Three-Phase System & Grid Connection

This installation features a three-phase PIP system, ideal for handling the energy loads of a community building like the Village Hall. As part of the project, we managed all the necessary applications for grid connection, ensuring a smooth transition from planning to operation.

Certifications & Testing

As with all our projects, this installation was:

  • Tested, certified, and insured by qualified professionals.
  • Installed by an MCS, RECC, and NICEIC approved contractor, guaranteeing the highest levels of quality and safety. Our team consists of trained and experienced electricians specializing in solar PV installations.

Benefits for Pet Village Hall

With this system, Pet Village Hall will see:

  • A reduction in energy costs, particularly during daylight hours when the Hall generates its own electricity.
  • Lower carbon emissions, helping the Village Hall meet its environmental goals and contribute to a cleaner, greener community.
  • The flexibility to expand the system in the future, with more panels or battery storage as needed.

Conclusion

This 10.8 kW solar PV and battery storage installation is a step towards a more sustainable and energy-efficient future for Pet Village Hall. The combination of energy savings and reduced carbon footprint ensures that the Hall will benefit both financially and environmentally for years to come.
