Project Details
44.2 kW Solar Array for Large Warehouse
We are excited to share details of a recent solar photovoltaic (PV) installation we completed for a large commercial warehouse. The client’s goal was twofold: reduce energy costs during working hours and minimize the environmental impact of their operations. With a 44.2 kW solar PV array now installed on their roof, they are set to achieve both objectives.
Project Overview
The installation consisted of:
- 44.2 kW of solar PV panels mounted on the roof of the warehouse
- On-grid inverter system ensuring the facility can use solar energy during the day and remain connected to the grid
- Eight strings of panels within the array to ensure optimal performance and energy generation
The roof itself was a trapezoidal metal structure, perfect for the installation of solar panels. Additionally, the building had a three-phase electrical supply, which allowed us to maximize energy distribution across the system and ensure smooth integration with the existing infrastructure.
The Client’s Requirements
Our client, a business operating out of a large commercial warehouse, was seeking to:
- Reduce energy costs during peak daylight hours when their operations are in full swing
- Lower the carbon footprint of their facility and contribute to a more sustainable future
By installing solar panels, they can now harness the power of the sun, offsetting a significant portion of their daytime electricity consumption and decreasing reliance on the grid.
Scope of Work
Our team handled every aspect of the project, including:
- Supply and installation of high-efficiency solar panels and equipment
- Commissioning of the entire system to ensure it was operating at optimal efficiency
- Applications and permissions required for connecting the system to the local electricity network
- Testing, certification, and insurance provided by an MCS and RECC registered installer, ensuring that the system meets the highest standards of safety and compliance
Environmental and Financial Impact
With this solar PV system in place, the warehouse can expect:
- Lower energy bills during working hours by utilizing self-generated solar power
- Reduced carbon emissions, contributing to a greener business operation
- Potential savings from government incentives for renewable energy use, further enhancing the return on investment
Conclusion
This 44.2 kW solar PV installation is a prime example of how commercial properties can benefit from sustainable energy solutions. By reducing operational costs and environmental impact, this warehouse is setting the standard for future-focused, eco-friendly business practices. We are proud to have been part of this journey and look forward to seeing the long-term benefits unfold for our client.
